The phones used in the old ages had to be connected to cables to work but cell phones could be used without cables, and that made cell phones special. As technologies improved drastically, cell phones also improved its features that had help people in their life. Nowadays, cell phones can be used to text message, play games, chat, call and e-mail. There are also many companies that have made and offered many types of cell phones like Apple, Nokia, Blackberry, Samsung, Google. The most popular phone right now, the iPhone, has its own unique specialty. The device has a lot of applications that can be applied to help us in our daily life. I am a user of iPhone myself and the iPhone has helped me to find directions, to find out what music is being played and to connect to social networks.

Last spring break, I went to Seattle with my sister to visit my cousin from Thursday to Sunday, but he had to go to work on Friday and he had a party he had to attend to. I realized that I had a friend from my high school that went to Seattle to study. I called her days before I went to Seattle to make sure she is free for the day and luckily, she was. I was very excited to see her because it had been a long time since the last time I saw her, but there was a transportation problem. She did not have a car and it would be impossible for my cousin to take me to the market, the place where we decided to meet. Later that day, I decided to take the bus to go to the market even though I was not very sure that I would make it to there without getting lost because even if I got into the right bus and stopped at the right place, I still had to walk to the market. This is where my iPhone came in handy because I managed to use the GPS application to direct. I also used my GPS application inside the bus as well to make sure that I got off at the right stop. Thanks to iPhone, I did not start a new life in Seattle because I could not find my way home.

There were times when we went to a party and a song that sounds we really liked but we did not know the name of the song. So, later that night, we used our computer to find the name of the song but what we got were songs from the 70s. When I bought the iPhone, I searched the application store to download applications that might be useful for me to use. As I went through the list, I saw an application called Shazam and because I thought the name was pretty cool, I read through the function of the application. The application was able to tell us what song was played. Bullseye, I thought, because I had waited for something like this to help me figure out songs that I did not know the name of. So, that day, I listened to the radio to test my new application that I just downloaded. It was a great application because as a music lover, I always wanted to know every song that interests me and until now, if there was a song played with an unknown name, my iPhone became my savior.
