One thing I have learned is that working in child care you're always having to make intuitive decision daily. One event that sticks out in my mind is where I had to make a call about saving a little boy's life. We were on a field trip with our kiddos at a huge waterpark during the summer. As we were waiting in line, I know there was another daycare there with a huge group of children. Well one of the counselor had taken their attention off of the little boy for a few minutes. I saw the little boy wading in the shallow part of the wave pool. I looked away for a few moments and while my back was turned I heard someone shout "help me." I turned around and saw the little boy had wandered out into the deep part of the wave and he couldn't swim. I could just barely see him waving his hands as he went under the water. At that moment I had to make the call of do I leave my group of 10 kids unsupervised an risk getting in trouble or save a life. I jumped out of line and quickly to the wave pool and swam to the deep end and grabbed him and pulled him up and swam back to the shallow area with him. At this point the counselor who was in charge of this little boy ran over to us and thanked me for saving his life.
