A definition of an "illegal immigrant" is a foreigner who has entered or resides in a country unlawfully or without the country's authorization. With more and more legal and illegal immigrants entering the U.S every day the questions comes down to if they are doing it for the right reasons. Most immigrants that come to the U.S are low skilled workers that do not have a educational back round and how ever can not provide health insurance. They come to America and take under paid entry level jobs from American citizens. Generally illegal immigrants do not pay taxes, besides this fact they also receive benefits from organizations to get food stamps and many other benefits. The reality is that illegal immigration hurts the U.S. middle class and it is severely damaging to the U.S. economy very rapidly. Illegal immigrants have been entering the United States for years now, and it has been a big issue concerning the world today.

All around the country employers of all types hire many of these undocumented illegal immigrants not only because they can pay them less than minimum wage, but these workers are not given any kind of health care what so ever. Employers need to cut down their cost by hiring illegal immigrants. U.S. employers save billions on taxes a year. For this reason I believe it is very unfair for American citizens, and even teenagers that are unemployed looking for jobs every day of the year. Employers are cheating the government out of their tax dollars by hiring illegal immigrants to work less than minimum wage, besides the fact they do not have any education they come without papers or any authorization, which means no records are shown, any worker can be exposed to diseases and the worker maybe be infected.

In Barbara Jordan's essay "The Americanization Ideal" Congressman consider Illegal immigration a keystone in their campaigns. Jordan argues that the U.S. should maintain and enforce immigration policies. Congressman responds by saying "This attention is not misplaced. Reform is needed in policies that permit the continued entry of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and blur distinctions
