A Literature Review

1. Introduction

This essay will discuss English on academic writing, particularly the use of literature, review of theory and writer voice. These aspects are based on a written assignment that I have been learning about this semester for another unit.

The assignment in another unit is named Learning, Knowing and Thinking. In is unit, some psychologists and other fields of experts are concentrating the design of learning experiences in varied educational settings and indicating a new changing trend in recent years. This assignment will aim to focus attention on the topic of Illustrations in Text and Multimedia which are existed and make a brief comparison with the theories of different authorial voices. "This rich visual context is helping to re-shape students' and teachers' traditional expectations about how instruction will be presented."(Richard,2001)

Turning to this essay, I will describe how I structure my writing task, choose my references to support my ideas and make a comparison with writers' voices.

2. Analyze of my writing

The use of illustrations in Text and Multimedia has offered an alternative way of understanding the main information from sources. An illustration could as a tool of learning. In particular, illustrations in multimedia learning is an active process which can provide the new learning potential into the hands of educators and students. The scope of this paper is limited to a review of research on Illustration in Text and Multimedia used for instructional purposes. In this article the effects of three aspects (color, graphics and animation) on the development of educationally effective modules of illustrations are examined.

2.1 Color

The use of color in both texts and multimedia modules not only can help learners to develop understandings, but also should be usefulness as resources for instruction. Due to the more color that is used, the less effective it becomes, color should be used carefully. Color can be the most usefull method when it can be used as a marking and highlighting tool ; at the same time, it can attract directly students' attention to the essential points (Peeck, 1993).

In my assignment,I will make an instance of doing the presentation. The whole presentation can be constructed the various color plans. There are numerous materials which have mentioned it can be supported this view. The effective orientation of using color has already be suggested by a plenty variety of authors, such as McFarland (1995) and so on. These suggestions include (a) do not use too much colors in each screen; (b) using the same color choices during the whole presentation; (c) using the brightest colors for the most important information and parts; (d) using gray, black color which are belong to the dark color as a background; (e) using significant opposite colors between text and a background color to provide a higher degree to make them easy to read; (f) considering the very hot colors ( pink and magenta) should be avoided since they may be not clear on the screen. These sources described the cautions of using color.

2.2 Graphics

It is easy to present information through graphics in both text
