Undeniably, as an innovator IKEA's is amazingly successful. The company was the first to make gracefully designed home furnishings proverbially available at low prices; and they created an iconic global brand in the process. IKEA products have become synonymous with value, design, and accessibility. The company's goal is to provide all consumers with cutting-edge but cost-effective products through innovative design, production, distribution, and sales techniques.

IKEA is a privately held, international home products company that designs and sells furniture which is ready to assemble. IKEA is the largest furniture retailer in the whole world. Their business is all worldwide and totally more than 300 stores in over 40 countries on Europe, North America, Middle East, Asia Pacific and even Caribbean. IKEA's products are diversification but simplify to assembly such as beds, sofas, appliances and home accessories. The company was founded in 1943 by a 17-year-old boy Ingvar Kamprad in Sweden, which is a well-planned boy who wants to develop his own business. The company "IKEA" was named as the founder's name "Ingvar Kamprad" and the farm where grown him up "Elmtaryd", plus his home parish "Agunnaryd" which is in south Sweden, and that is how the name's idea come up.

Nowadays, the IKEA is no longer located headquarter in Sweden.

The groups of companies from IKEA are now all controlled by "INGKA Holding B.V.", which is a Dutch corporation that base on tax-free and non-profit. Although INGKA Holding B.V. owns group of Swedwood industrial, the origin of IKEA furniture's manufacture, and also the sales company that runs IKEA's stores, as well as the purchasing and supplying function's part. But still, the whole IKEA foundation is controlled by Ingvar Kamprad, the founder and his family. The company which was come from Småland, Sweden, issues its products through its retail outlets. Incidentally, the part of furniture designing and products developing in IKEA range is also the IKEA of Sweden's responsibility.

The store, logistic centre and foundation of IKEA are all around the world too. Such as the Europe logistic centre is located in Dortmund, the one in Asia is situated in Singapore.

The IKEA is one of the most successful companies in the world. Till 2010, their revenue is €23.5 billion; net income is €2.7 billion. There are totally 127,000 employees working in this company, which can tell it is one of the largest companies at the moment. As of October 2011, IKEA has 332 stores in thirty-eight countries. In fiscal year 2010, it sold $23.1 billion worth of goods, a 7.7 percent increase over 2009, and the number of income is still increasing.
