If you think you can, you can

It was a hot summer vacation, I applied for a math competition course. After the first class, I recognized how poor my math is. For a straight-A student who were always the top of the class, who had perfect records of math grades, who were confident in math all the time, finding she was overshadowed by most students in her class was an cruel thing. There were many excellent students in the class, they could easily get the answers. At first I could kept pace with them with much effort. But later, I even couldn't follow the teacher, just because I was absent-minded in the class. I was anxious about my study every time and this never occurred in my life before. Finally I chatted my poor situation with my mother. She told me I was always the best in her mind and the most perfect daughter, I should be confident of myself. She also said confidence was the most magic thing in the world, it could totally change a person. She encouraged me to have a try. Be confident, and I could see the miracle. From then on, I tried to be confident of myself, never thought about the weakness of my math and concentrated on the course. In deed, there was miracle in the world. After doing so many exercises, I could even carry out the questions sooner than them sometimes. It was a great progress for me. And these all owe to the confidence.

Confidence can help you concentrate on the thing you are doing now. Devoting all your energy and time to only one thing can make you easily be successful. Confidence leads to good mood. Keeping good mood is beneficial to promote your efficiency. Confidence brings hope for you. Hope is an internal impetus which makes you be interest in challenge difficulties.

Every time when I go to a new place I will meet many excellent people, the situation of lack of confidence happens all the time. But I have known that I have to adjust myself. There is a poem written by C. W. Longenecker, which encourages me for a long time and always accompany me in the stern time. Every time when I feel upset, I will read this poem loudly. When the words of the poem come out of my mouth, I have strength to face the challenges again.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost.

For out in the world we find.

Success begins with a fellow's will.

It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,

You've got to think high to rise,

You've got to be sure of yourself before

You can ever win a prize.
