Change Proposal
Change management is something that you will find within any organization. Every organization makes changes at one time or another, change management is here to help manage those changes. There are many departments within an organization such as sales, customer service, finance, accounting, operations and the marketing department. Within this paper it will cover a proposal for a necessary change within the sales department of Kudler Fine Foods. The whole reason behind this report is to seek permission from the upper management to make a change management program within the sales department. There are multiple steps that will be taken, the first one is to make sure you are discussing what the importance is concerning the change as well as what opportunities it can help provide to the company. The second step would be going over and explaining the four dimensions of change and how they can be applied to the situation. The third step will explain how we would use this project management approach to help explain how these changes can be managed to become beneficial. The last step will explain supporting the change proposal position and getting an expected return on investment (ROI).
Need For Change
Having a change management program will help Kudler Fine Foods see and make sure that the change is managed the way it should be (Leban & Stone, 2008). Any type of change management should always be communicated to everyone within the organization including the upper management to ensure that everyone is on the same page and has a complete understanding as well as to make sure that everyone is in an agreement to the change. When it comes down to the acceptance of any new change within an organization always starts at the top once approved from those at the top of the organization, it then makes it easier for others in the organization to follow since they know that everyone is on board. Within the current situation at Kudler Fine Foods, the sales department is not working at their best which, makes it necessary to make a change. The organization is not happy with the way that the sales department has been performing lately when it comes down to the selling of their products such as wine and other food products and have also noticed a lack of customers wanting to sign up for their wine appreciation classes.
The Four Dimensions of Change
There is an understanding that anytime there is a change that is needed, there are different steps that need to be taken in order to fulfill the change. The sales department is one of the main departments within the organization and it effect a large amount of the company. The changes made within this department need to sure they are detailed and correct. The sales department at Kudler Fine Foods is in charge of the sales that are made within the company. Without these sales there would be no revenue for the company, its very important that this is ran the right way so the sales can continue to increase. The easier it is to have a sales approach and plan the works, the better off the sales department will be and the store will succeed.
There are four parts to this process that will help the change go through smoothly. It is important to remain constant when it comes down to performing these steps to ensure an effective outcome. The four steps that are used are reality check, become prepared, implement the change and consolidation of the change. In the first step you are getting ready for the change you are explaining to individuals what is going to happen and how it is going to affect the department/company. It explains the need and what the execution will be to complete the change so others are aware and understand the urgency that will be needed. The second step requires the preparations of the elements so they can complete the implementation step. It is very important to make sure all of the individuals that will be impacted by the change involved in this step, it will help create the drive that is necessary to move things forward to the next step. The third step in the change process is the implementation of the change that needs to be made. When you are implementing a plan you are going to want to put together a support team, and any trainings that will make it necessary to perform the duties for the new changes that will be happening. The final step is the consolidation process, within this process all of the parts are then put together, all of the parts that aren’t really needed are discarded, and organization of the rest.
