How to Prepare for an Interview
The purpose of an interview is to enable the employer to state that the interviewee is what the organization requires by observing his or her performance. During the interview you have the chance to show the employer why you have the best qualifications. In addition you only have a few minutes to share why your skills and abilities make you a better candidate. When it was time for me to prepared for an interview, I would always have a repetitive routine that consisted of 4 steps. The first step would be to dress professionally. The night before, I would pick out professional attire such as black slacks, a button down, follow by a blazer. I also made sure that my nail color was a natural color and the color wasn't chipping. According to ehowkeys.com, groomed appearance, dressing decently, and neat and cut nails would definitely be preferred on someone with untidy and indecent clothing as well as overall appearance. Second would consist of brainstorming such as premeditating what questions they are going to ask me in advance. You want to have questions and answers ready and practice them. Also don't completely memorize your answers so they come out rehearsed, but have a clear idea of what you are going to say (The Undercover Recruiter). Third step contains setting up my alarm clock so I can have enough time to get ready and arrive 15 minutes prior to the arrive time I am supposed to be there. Lastly, the fourth step in which deals with a prayer. I pray before heading to bed and waking up that I will keep a positive attitude and that everything will go well; leading me to get the job. According to ehowkeys.com, don't make your mind that you want the job badly, for this will provoke nervousness. I find this statement to be true and this is why I pray before and after going and waking up. I pray that I won't be nervous and that I will have a positive attitude.
Overall, a job seeker should remember to treat every interview as if it's their one and only chance to sell themselves to the recruiter.
