Hitler's rise to power was successful because of his ability to instill fear into the German peoples. He was able to instill this fear by using every possible media source he could. The propaganda and such was handled by Joseph Goebbels, one of Hitler's men. They used posters, leaflets, radio, and many other sources to spread the word of Hitler and convince people to join him. Hitler also used his belief that people thought with their emotions instead of using logic to turn people against the Jews and basically everyone else that wasn't German. This use of fear and manipulation and lies is what made Hitler's reign so powerful and devastating.

During the elections a mysterious fire burned down the Reichstag and Hitler used it to his advantage, making the citizens believe they were under attack from terrorists. This lie allowed him to gain a majority vote in the government and he was eventually granted a dictatorship. During his reign he continued to tell lies and distort facts to keep the citizens in fear and under his control. He didn't care what the truth was; he just wanted the people to be scared of anything that could potentially happen and base their decisions off of that fear.
