Hiroshima and Nagasaki - Atomic Bomb Decision

In a way Truman's decision to drop the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was the right call to make. President Truman had discovered that a bomb capable of mass destruction had tested successful and in a way was eager to use it only if necessary. The opportunity would soon come looking towards the end of the war.
In 1945 Americans discovered that Japans defense against American attack was very low, and the Americans rarely seen retaliation from Japan at this point in the war. American planners sought to invade Japan in November of 1945 and March 1946, but they estimated 50,000 casualties of American troops in the first phase of the attack alone. With everything going on in Iwo Jima and Okinawa to avoid total copulation Truman hesitantly accepted the fact that he might have to and he could you the atom bomb to end the war. President Truman used an Allied ultimatum so that he wouldn't have to use the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This would have kept Truman from using the bomb, but the Japanese did not respond to Truman's ultimatum putting Truman in a tight spot. The only decision left for Truman was stick to his word or let the Japanese think he was sending false threats.
Truman made the only decision possible to end the war at that point. The war seemed endless and many more would have died if it did not end when it did. When Truman made the decision to drop the bomb he was doing is for the betterment of the world. In a way one could say Truman saved more lives than he took by making the decision to drop the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. For this reason it was the right decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
