An Heroic Act
Around mid- April, my brother and I had decided to go out since it was an incredible day. It was the beginnig of spring, so everything was full of colours; the trees were covereded with green leaves, while the flowers blossomed beautiful and radiant, and the sun's warmth embraced our bodies. The most beautiful of all was the canal that passed through this area; fresh water flowing with great energy. It was like a vivid postcard.
"Let's do something", my brother said. So we thought about playing rugby. Both of us were in the local rugby team and we loved that sport! We started passing the ball as we pushed each other as it usually happens in that sport. But in one unfortunate moment, my brother tripped over a rock and fell into the river. "I can't swim" he shouted trying to grab into something and trying not to sink. It was a desperate moment for both of us. I didn't know what to do. I started yelling for help and looking for a tree bruch in order to rescue him but everything was in vain. The current was strong, and it was taking him along. I couldn't do anything. Luckily, a man appeared. I didin't know how he arrived there but I felt a huge relief when I saw him. I thought that God had sent him. He quickly dived into the water and took my brother under his arms. He had saved my brother! I was extremely happy!
Once on land, this strange man helped my brother to spit the water he had swallowed. A few minutes passed when the police arrived on the scene. The man greeted the officers and we did not understand what was happening. They covered my brother with a blanket and asked me my parents' phone number so they could contact them and inform the situation. This strange man approached us and he presented himself. "My name is Richard, I'm an ex-policeman and this area used to be my work place. Every day I had to walk around (RECORRER) and since I can not lose the habit, occasionally I still do it. But for my surprise, suddenly I saw you and luckily I could help you. I had asked for help before"
After all that my parents appeared; my mother crying, of course, and my father running to us. They didn't say nothing. They only gave us huges and thanked this angel man that had protected our lives.
Now, my brother is assisting to swimming clases, and of course I do the same!
