Hernan Cortes Case

Hernan Cortes was a revolutionary man who managed to fool, and conquer an entire civilization that had survived for hundreds of years. Hernan was born in 1485 in Medellin, Spain. He was a chivalrous young boy who grew up to be a respectable man. He was a leader in many peoples eyes. Cortes had worked his way up to the top in order to obtain the explore, and capture the interior of Mexico for colonization. However, he then revoked it, but Cortes went on with the voyage anyway. This decision by Cortes changed history forever. Hernan went and eventually conquered the Aztecs, an advanced civilization where the culture is almost as rich as the soil they founded it upon. Hernan Cortes's conquering of the Aztec civilization was detrimental to the population because of the spread of disease, his deception, and the Spaniard's brute force.
Hernan was born in Medellín, Spain in the year of 1485. Martín Cortés de Monroy, Cortes's dad, was birthed in 1449; Hernan's mother was Catalina Pizarro Altamarino. When Hernan was 14, he went to the University of Salamanca which is located in central Spain. The university was in theory the central of learning for Spain and added to Cortes's intelligence. During his time there, he had the intention of studying the practice of law. He would later drop out after two years, because of his impatience and restlessness. Even though he had these traits which seem terrible, it would prove to be his more prevelant traits that would lead him to victory.
When Cortes landed in Mexico to take the land, he and his men were in the country, when Spain did not think he would followtracted the disease. When Cortes's men returned to camp, the Aztec's quicly attacked, overwhelming Cortes's troops, and causing them to retreat.
