And as the first quotation presented is the short story told in explicit 1st person singular narrator, from the little girl Elizabeth’s perspective. Every description and experience are therefore from her point of view, which gives the story a different sight because of the perspective she has as a child, that the quote also narrates to, by “little girls. Her point of view creates an unusual warm and frankness, owing to children’s general feelings and understanding, with an honest characterization. That gives the narrative a special interpretation of the narrator that both can be reliable and unreliable, in a present narrative through Elizabeth’s perspective. The present narrative can also be seen from the quotation; “And if I leave the door open, I can still hear Mammy bossing Daddy and Big Alec about downstairs, while they move our bits and pieces in”[1], where her toughs and considerations are being considered trough her vision, as a overall perspective. Meanwhile does the quote also indicate a childish slang, with the words Mammy, Daddy and Big, also seen in the quotation: “Mammy’l l take to me with a wooden spoon if she she catches me up in the attic”[2], that refer to children’s meaning of; mother, father and little brother, that determines her young age and childish understanding.
