Hamlet Case

Although Hamlet is set in several centuries earlier, the story proves to be a timeless classic that outlines life's tragedies, whether it be suicidal thoughts, or death. Due to the play's tragedy storyline, a lot of negativity stems from the story itself and reveals a great deal of lessons about life and its typical experiences. One of the central themes that revolve around Hamlet is his desire to kill himself or have suicidal thoughts. His desire to kill himself takes root from his adolescent mind and inability to take in all that is happening to him at the time. Much like today, there are teenagers all across the world having suicidal thoughts simply because they cannot handle what is given to them. Their stress levels sky rocket leading them to crash, and give in to their desires. However, Hamlet's suicidal thoughts do not follow through. As a result, he continues to plot his attack against Claudius in hopes of avenging his late father. In another relation to today, people still have the desire to seek revenge on those who have done wrong towards a particular individual.Although the story does not teach a positive lesson--rather, only saying revenge will kill you--the situation seems to be relatable because people will take action and seek revenge whether it be from stealing the kid's pencil next to you in class or accidentally breaking someone's leg while playing soccer. Either way, the people who have been negatively affected by this particular situation will seek to get revenge, or at least get even. The story also portrays death as a prominent figure, especially towards the end when everyone starts to blow up and die from poison and weapons. Death has always been sticking around throughout centuries; in fact, since the beginning of time. It persists to take away lives today, and was certainly a significant factor throughout the story of Hamlet. The relevance of Hamlet today does not necessarily teach lessons about what one should or should not do, but rather outline the tragedies that one might encounter in life. At times, there will be moments where creating one's own death maybe the only plausible thing to do, or getting even with someone because they have done you wrong; however, life has its odd ways of working things out because no matter how much you want to try and shape it, unexpected events that reshape your way of life will inevitably happen.
