David hill is a journalist, reviewer, fiction writer, playwright and children's writer. David Hill is a New Zealand author born in Napier 1942. Before David became a writer he was a teacher for fourteens years then leaving teaching to become a full time writer. David has a range of published book such as "bodies and souls", "impact", "the sleeper wakes" ad much more. His first young adult novel won the 1994 Times Educational Supplement Award for Special Needs. Beverley Dunlop is an incredible short story, poet and novel writer. Beverley Dunlop was also a New Zealand author who was born on 25 August 1935 in Takaka. She now lives in Napier. Some of the books and short stories Beverly Dunlop is famous for are "lucky", "blackbird post" and dolphin boy.
The main idea in the text "Friendly persuasion" by David hill is that kids/teenagers should have some restrictions but not too many restrictions otherwise the kids/teenagers will break the restriction and become a rebel or reprobate. In the story Alan doesn't care about trouble, rules, essays, homework and school. The reason behind this is because Alan's parents don't have rules for him.
