The history of the usage of guns in America is very long. In 1620, a ship named Mayflower took 102 English Pilgrims to the North America. They are the first Europeans in the new land. From then on , more and more people got here from the other side of the Atlantic. However, numerous wild animals and unkind local Indians made it very hard to survive in the unknown world for these immigrants. Under the circumstances, guns were so important that they even equaled to lives. The immigrants used guns to hunt animals and protect themselves. Then , they survived and the number of them became larger and larger. At last, Europeans in North America controlled this land with the help of guns. Then, in the America Revolution, guns played very important roles again. It was these common people who used there own guns fought with the British Army bravely and eventually won the war.So having a gun was believed necessary by the new America and its citizens. It was even written in the constitution and became one of Americans important rights. As time goes on , the number of guns that American citizens keep is larger and larger.
