A disadvantage of homeschooling could be the lack of socialization by a child. Not being able to learn with friends, and not being able to associate and meet with other kids of the same age could lead to some growing problems. Another disadvantage is no time for work because home schooling takes up a lot of time in preparation; a parent may run out of time for house hold duties and chores. The final disadvantage that is the patience that has to come from any parent deciding to homeschool a child. A parent have to know ahead of time that there will be a lot of frustration coming from the student when they are covering hard subjects and that when they get flustered, you can't allow yourself to do the same. It is important that to separate at times the role of parent and teacher. Home schooling allows a parent to really get to know their kids on a whole different level than packing them on the bus for school in the mornings. There are good and bad things about homeschooling and for each family it varies on what will work for them. Taking into account the advantages and disadvantages, a parent must make sure that they weight everything before they jump into a decision about pushing your kids into public school, or pulling them out. One fable out there is that homeschooled children are less likely to get into college. Homeschool children can or even maybe make a huge different then a child in public school. But as they say, a parent or mother knows best.
