Abstract
In this assignment, the topic of global warming in the aspect of myth or reality will be explored. The claims of this phenomenon on the environment around the world will be discussed. Ideas of the topic will be addressed as well as arguments on both sides of the spectrum. The purpose of this analysis is to enlighten members of Congress on the viewpoints of both sides of the topic.

1. History of Global Warming
The NOAA or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration claims that the topic of climate change is one of the most debated subjects on Earth. It has also been labeled the most complicated issue facing the world today.
Global Warming is defined as the increase in the temperatures of the Earth as a result of greenhouse gases (Global Warming FAQ, 2008).
The voices of the scientific community are becoming louder as effects and dangers from the accumulation of human related greenhouse gases continue.
As of late, the term "climate change" has been used instead of global warming because the preferred term indicates that there are other changes along with rising temperatures.
It is the opinion of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) that if global warming is solved, lives will become better due to cleaning up air pollution and becoming involved in clean energy, "green" jobs, and energy solutions that will cause the U.S. economy to move again.

According to the NOAA climate has become warmer in some areas and cooler in other areas. Some statistics to support this statement are: global surface temperatures have risen approximately 0.74 degrees Celsius since the late 19th century and the trend of plus or minus 0.13 degrees Celsius per decade is about two times that amount for the previous 100 years. Also, seven out of the eight warmest years on record have happened since 2001 and the 10 warmest years have all been encountered
