Future Dentist

The career path that I have chosen is to become a dentist, when I was little I did dream of becoming a dentist. People always say that your smile is your best feature and I want to make everyone smile. Becoming a dentist gives me the chance to help others keep their healthy pearly white smiles until they are in their elderly age. Not only helping people is a plus for me to become a dentist, also there are many advantages of taking on this career path. Becoming one gives oneself the advantage to always have a job no matter if the economy is good or bad. Also dentist have high annual salaries and you can become your own boss. Even though becoming a dentist is a long road with all the educational and experience requirements, the fact that you can help someone keep those smiles stay beautiful is very rewarding. In the military they also need dentist, so that lets me help people and I can travel all over the world.
What do dentist do? Some will just simply answer, "They fix my teeth," but there is more to that. Did you know that there are nine different areas in which a dentist can specialize in? One of the largest out of the nine are orthodontists, they help straighten out teeth by applying pressure with braces. The next largest group is oral and maxillofacial surgeons, they operate on the mouth, jaws, teeth, gums, neck, and head. The rest are pediatric dentist, periodontists, prosthodontists, endodontists, oral pathologists, oral and maxillofacial radiologists, or dental public health specialists. The path on becoming a dentist is a long, difficult, and tedious path. First you must maintain a very high GPA in your mathematics, science, and health classes. Then you must go to a two-year or sometimes four-year dental program. If you perform well in pre-dentistry school and your marks for your Dental Admissions Test are high, will be able to go to a good dental school. Once you graduate, you would have gone through six years of training and will be able to get your own license. Even though having the educational requirements for becoming a dentist is a lot, it's worth it because dentists make around $61,345 to $207,863. Also the more experience a dentist gains the higher the salary.
Nowadays there is a high demand on dentist, because of two reasons. First many like celebrities like to always have beautiful white smiles. Second there are those elderly who now want to keep their "real" teeth lasting long and healthy. Many people are now realizing the importance of dental care services. Due to the success of dentistry, many now want to choose the path on becoming a dentist. Since the demand for dentist is growing rapidly, there is now many highly trained and qualified dentists throughout the nation. No matter what stage the economy is in, the demand for oral services is always need. Dentist will always find jobs, because as long as we have teeth we need dental care services.
