First Russian Satellite

In 1968 men left the earth to land on the moon. Many people watch the journey over television. Why did men whent to the moon ? The project was a group of exploration excited of beating the Russians. During October 4,1957 Russia sent the first men made satellite in history. For too many americans this was a shocking defeat. Americans saw the Russias aproach as if they were able to dominate the space and later they will be able to dominate the earth. Frank Borman was incharge of the Apollo 8 mission to land the lunar lander, but the lander was not ready for the mission. In August,1968 Frank Borman was asked to change the mission of Apollo 8 and was asked to work on the project to go to the moon instead. Due to the Germen that created the V2 rocket for Hitler it help give America the idea of creating a spacecraft. Later In 1958 Nasa created a group called the 7th Mercury astronauts. Nasa laboratory was the place where Nasa began. They were then called the Space Tass Group Visionaries. One of the Space Tass Group Visionaries became leyend he designed the Mercury capsule. During the 1950's the travel to the moon became possible. It became easier since all the rockets became powerful. In order for astronauts to survive they needed special clothing,smaller spacecraft that will consume less fuel. One of the main concerns was either the spacecraft was going to land as direct ascent by using a single rocket to send the space craft to the moon or by using the Earth Orbit Rendezvous this will include using two smaller rockets one by sending a space craft and the other one sending fuel. Dr.John Houboult came with the idea of using the Lunar orbit Rendevouzs this idea helped save less fuel. Later in April 12,1961 during the Soviet Union the Russians put the first man in space. After President John F.Kennedy agree with members, they finally decided they were ready to put a man into space and landed in the moon before the Russians. The whole world witness the space program landing into space. The president at that momen John F. Kennnedy was more interested on his reputation and landing those austronauts into space before the Russians. The speech announce the L.O.R to be sent to the moon and the 2 Gemini spacecraft that were tested and that succeded. The second testing was the astronauts floating in space. The E.V.A puts the life of three astronauts at risk. For the spacecraft named Gemini they practice even under water which is the closes thing to space gravity. The first fligth with apollo did not made it into space the craft was destroyed by fire causing the death of three astonauts. January 19,1967 after the 10 weeks Gemini ended due to a spark that turn into fire. Saturn 5 was created to explore space this was the rocket that send Apollo to get a view of the moon. Nov 9,1967 they start the launching with Saturn 5. During christmas eve Nasa gets a close view from the moon live, the only problem at that time was getting back home to earth. The problem
