Exorcism of Emily Rose

The Exorcism of Emily Rose, directed by Scott Derrickson, made me question my beliefs as a Christian. I am not a fan of scary movies. Actually, anything to do with demons and the devil I try to stay away from. The message of the movie to me was that demons do exist, but also it showed how god exists as well. The exorcisms taking place during the film made me see the power of the devil and god. Also, that god had has a plan for each one of us. Emily's plan for god was to take on the demons and prove to people that god is real. I thought that god was punishing Emily for doing something wrong, but she will become a saint. Scott Derrickson did a great job capturing the exorcism. Finally, I could get a visual on what could happen during an exorcism. The loud screaming and speaking through different demons, made a strong impact on the viewer. I have become more aware of evil and good through this movie. Just recently, I woke up at 3 am and there was a loud footstep of the hard floor in my room. I was engaged in a conversation with some demons, and started saying a bunch of prayers. This went on like a battle for 30 more minutes. I couldn't stop thinking about it after then so I didn't go back to bed for another 3 hours. It could be just a coincidence, but I know what I heard and I knew I had to figure out away to overpower him through god. The next couple of days I blocked him out and continued living my life in the eyes of Christ. I problem will not watch a scary movie for quite a while now. The devil should not be toyed with because he is powerful too.
