Executive Summary

As we are currently investing in a small building to open a record store called, Your Tunes. What makes our record store unique in comparison to our competitors is that we offer a large diversity of music ranging from big name to underground and local artists of all genres. Another exclusive offer for our customers is the ability to buy, sell or trade actual cds. Customers will also have ability to bring in a music player device (IPod, Zune, MP3 player, computer or phone) to download and store any music they want with a new music software program.

As for the business plan of the record store the ideas are already set and in place. However, my partner is lacking the experience with information systems and the technology the store will be using to perform. What she needs to make clear of the situation is information systems that will be descriptive, evaluate benefits, and drawbacks for the Your Tunes Record Store.

In order for the record store to operate and make better sense of the systems we must first list the types of functions that Your Tunes will carry out daily. These functions include:

* Creating action reports.

* Being able to process and trace credit/debit card transactions.

* Manage the process of accounting, payroll, and company budgets.

* Maintaining inventory, data, and software.

The different types of information systems that will support the functions listed above are: Executive Dashboard, Expert System, and Management Information System.
