A business ethics behavior is a critical component implemented to help organizations and businesses to be successful in providing their services. Codes of ethics are used in companies to be guidance for employee's behaviors. This code encompasses various standards of integrity with respect to relationships with customers, other employees and others associated with the organization. Following ethical practices can earn trust for the organization that translates into long-term benefits.
The code of ethics for Southwest Regional Medical Center is found to be very standard as in other businesses. I will discuss the ethical system implemented within Southwest Regional Medical Center and how the code of ethics is used in within this facility. This paper will identify the type of ethical system within the organization and include information in regard to the different departments and the code of ethics. Each department of the hospital is to understand the entire code of ethics; however, they will apply within his or her duties. The code of ethics by both management and employees will also be discussed.
Southwest Regional Medical Center was established in 1969, and provides health care services to seven southwestern Mississippi and two Louisiana parishes. The hospital's internal structure, emphasis on ethical behavior and has a strong ethics code and ethics training program. There primary focus is on providing quality health care needs.

According to the CEO of the hospital (2013), the mission statement of Southwest Regional Medical Center "Our mission statement is to improve the quality of life for all people lives. We strive to make difference in the lives of our community by providing quality, compassionate care in a work environment that fosters employee commitment and pride. We promise to give you and your family exceptional service and quality care at all times".
As an employee of Southwest Medical Center, we endorse support groups in an effort to help people live a longer and healthy life. This statement heads the hospital's code of ethics with topics ranging from personal appearance to workplace safety, and work performances. The company's code of ethics and their ethical system is a goal-based ethical system. In a goal-based ethical system, there is additional focus on the outcome or final purpose and in this instance; the final purpose and outcome would be to provide healthcare needs to individuals from all different cultures.
