Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Some people place a high value on loyalty to the employer. To others it is perfectly acceptable to change jobs every few years to build a career. Discuss these two positions. Then indicate which position you agree with and why.
Some people like to stick with one employer because of several benefits of being a loyalty worker. Others like to change around to learn new experience in a different environment. Both are perfectly fine, depends on the preference of the person.
There are many benefit of being a loyal to one company or employer. First of all, the more you work in one company; you will get more familiar with the job and the environment. The more you familiar with something, you will more likely to be better at that job, and therefore perform the job better. That is one of the reasons why the employer often raises the salary for those employees who work with the company for a longer time. Therefore those people who wanted a stable job and life, place a very high value on loyalty to the employer.
On the other hand, there are few who do not want to stick to one place. They rather switch around and try new things. They might face some difficulties such as having to get used to their new jobs, start up salary are usually not very high, and changing jobs around might not give them a stable life. Despite these difficulties, they gain new experience in a new environment. They got more chances, and opportunities to be successful, and while doing many different things in different companies; they gain more experience, which might be the skill to help them build their own career.
In my preference, I like to take risks and try new things. Even though having a stable life is my goal, I think doing the same thing every single day is very boring. I want to try different things, and when I go to work , I want to put myself out into different environment. I believe that if you only try one thing, then that the only choice that you have. However if you try different things, you have many choices in life because you'll never know what you really want unless you try it.
