Title: Analysis of Impacts of Extra-curricular activities on the academic performance of BBA students of AIUB.
Abstract: This study was conducted to examine the impacts of Extra-curricular activities on the academic performance of undergraduate BBA students of AIUB. The main method of data collection was a self-structured questionnaire administered to 80 students. The specific objectives of the study were to determine the relationship between Extra-curricular activities and academic performance. The study also examined the nature of this relationships and other patterns of participation in various Extra-curricular activities among students. The students’ cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) was used as a measure of academic performance. The data were analyzed quantitatively and the results showed that some Extra-curricular activities such as – sports, arts & music, debate and other activities indeed have significant impact on academic performance. But the relationship isn’t always for positive. For example - participation in arts & music turned out to have negative relationship with academic performance in our study.

1. Introduction
This study attempts to study the relationship between ECA (Extra-curricular activities) and academic performance of the students. Now a days students all over the world participate in various kind of EAT such as: sports, drama, music, debate and public speaking etc. Taking part in these activities require them to commit significant amount of time and energy. It has been long a matter of great debate among academicians and policy makers about the possible effects the ECA have on the academic performance of the students.
