Reflection Essay

John Green believes that education is absolutely mandatory. I full heartily agree to that belief. Education takes a lot of time, money, and effort to go through and pass; although you do not really have to spend a dime, taxpayers do. Education is self explanatory, it exists to educate the “dumb” people for lack of better term. So if we had a lot of “dumb” people in the world the world would be a much harder and less efficient world.

Firstly education has been around for a very long time, since 1775. It has not been around everywhere since 1775. Such as in the U.S. primary education did not exist till 1918. In Germany it was much early in the 18th century. Regardless of where you live, want to live, or how you live you need education. If you weren't education not only would you be “dumb” but you probably couldn’t communicate. Meaning that you probably couldn't get a job, but you couldn’t get money. Again meaning: no food, no water, no place to sleep, and nothing to do that's productive.

Primary education is essential for you, me, and the world at large. Just stop and think for a moment. If we had had never required primary education we would not have any advanced technology, like the chromebook I’m writing this essay with. We wouldn’t have as good of a life expectancy as we do now. We might not even have television. Let's be honest, we need T.V. in our lives to survive.

So education is needed all around the world, not just for the people getting smarter in the process but also for everyone else that “smart” soul can do for us with his or her educated life. Him or her could be the next person on Mars, or the person to invent time travel. Whatever it might be we need new and smarter children to make our life on planet Earth that much better. “Smart” people are needed for the future of the human race as a intelligent life forms. So if you ever think school is useless, not fun, boring, just a place to hang out, or whatever you may think, you're dead wrong. It's a place to make something of your life and with that life to change and help others with that learned knowledge.
