Introduction

An employee can that uses drugs can cost millions of dollars and affect the productivity, as well create liabilities exposure some of the things that can also affect the company is the premiums of compensation insurance can increase that is why a drug free environment is necessary and past incidents show on the record many uncertainty therefore the recommendation is to amend the policy in its entirety.

Policy Revised

Employee settlements have become a burden on this company because of suspicion of employees using drugs current policy does not mention nor cover drug clauses therefore it is in the best interest of the employer as well as the company to institute and amend the current policy these are some ramifications that should be included in the revised policy.

Safety & Health

The inoculation, and training of employees on legislation that mandates for all employers, and employees to instill a safe working environment, risk factors come into play when employees disregard the legislation and use drugs in the work environment it causes harm to themselves, and other employees around them are place at risk of accidents, about thirty five to twenty five percent of accidents that happen in the workplace are due to drug use. By instituting this policy the organization president and directors also are complying with federal regulations and at the same time benefits all employees by producing a safer environment and these are two of the primary legislation that require for a revised policy to be in place.
