To be a good driver you need to know all the maneuvers on how to properly operate a vehicle. The maneuver I will discuss is parallel parking, it requires total concentration. This maneuver is very important; as it is the deciding factor on passing or failing your driving test. With practice and patience you will feel greatly rewarded knowing you have accomplished a perplex task. Understanding this maneuver will assist you in passing your driving test.
The maneuver I will explain to you is how to parallel park your vehicle. With this maneuver you will need to be familiar with the size and feel of your vehicle. The first step is to move your car alongside the open spot. The reason for this is to give you a sense of measurement of space that you will need in order to parallel park your vehicle without damaging your car and the other parked cars. Once you have gauged if your car is able to fit in that space, you may proceed on to the next step. Next, a good suggestion would be is to turn on your right side turn signal, this will let the vehicles behind you know that you are taking this spot. It also shows that you are being a considerate driver.
The following step to this process is, to pull up alongside the car ahead of the available spot you are attempting to park in. You should pull a half of your cars length. Once you have done that, put the vehicle in reverse and start turning your steering wheel clockwise. Check your rearview mirror to make sure there are no cars behind you. Slow and gently put your foot on the gas pedal. Turn your head around to make sure you are clearly seeing the back of your trunk. Proceed to back up. Next, you should check your front right side of your vehicle, and make sure you are not getting too close to the car next to you. As you are backing up continue to turn the steering wheel clockwise.
The next step as you are turning your steering wheel is to stop, put your foot on the brake. Look in your rearview mirror; make sure you are not hitting the car behind you. Also check your right side view mirror, to make sure you are not touching the curb. If your tire is hitting the curb put your vehicle in drive and turn the steering wheel counter clockwise, proceed to pull forward slowly until the tire is no longer touching the curb. Next repeat the first step, until you are aligned to turn the steering wheel counter clockwise. While turning the steering wheel counter clockwise, slowly turn the wheel clockwise to align your vehicle up with the car in front of you. While doing this continue to check your rearview mirror. By doing this you should be a good two or three inches away from the curb.
Follow these steps slowly and carefully and you will not have any bumps or scratches on your car or other parked vehicles. This maneuver requires a lot of practice and patience, the more you practice parallel parking it should become second nature. You will pass your
