It has been said that there is no such thing as a sustainable strategic advantage. Do you agree? Why or why not?
I agree that there is no sustainable strategic advantage because systems that were intended to be strategic and make new products and resources in the end become survival systems because competition arises and have the same access to their strategic system and upgrade to it. So therefore, I agree that there is no such thing as a sustainable strategic advantage.
It has been said that the advantage that leading edge retailers such as Dell and Walmart have over their competition isn't technology; its their management. Do you agree? Why or why not?
I agree that that Walmart and Dell have over their competition is their management because management creates business models and making of business processes. Technology is a great part as well, but as the question above (1), everyone has the same access to it and therefore technology becomes more of survival and management has to think of ways to perform and manage these business processes.
What are some of the issues to consider in determining whether the Internet would provide your business with a competitive advantage?
Some of the issues to consider in determining whether the Internet would provide your business with a competitive advantage is the sharing of knowledge, make business models easier and simpler and yet a virtual company across the internet as well.

The downloading of video content of movies, music videos, and tv shows have challenged the television industry; from Netflix to YouTube. The problems that these forces have created is less people subscribing to cable companies and people cutting the cord of cable and switching to these other sites. Illegal downloading has became popular as well and unauthorized clips of copyrighted television shows on YouTube as well.

The impact of disruptive technology on the companies as NBC, Fox, ABC, etc. draws subscribers away from cable and satellite companies, reducing their revenue because more people are being drawn to we-based video services as Netflix and Hulu.
