Discrimination
Many people tend to use discrimination in anyway they can. Discrimination is a prejudice treatment of different categories of people or things. They can use it towards age, race or even by your sex. Some people do not think twice about what they are about to say and it comes out way worse than what they thought about in their head, however, it can bring many problems your way. Disrespecting a person by judging on their nature or origin is
Discrimination is about being treated differently in apposed to everyone else because of something about you that someone does not respect. There are many religious people in the world that have different beliefs and opinions about things, they may not agree with what you think is right, you have your own beliefs and they have theres. Some examples of signs of discrimination can be bullying, excluded or left out, feeling inferior because of someone's comments or actions and even being threatened about something. Basically if you feel uncomfortable or offended by something someone said to you or about you, then you are a victim of discrimination.
That is a way of bullying and harassment as well. Harassment is when someone behaves in a way that is intended to disturb or upset another person. A person should not have to argue with someone and defend themselves about what they truly admire doing. As said in Jim Crow Policing article written by Bob Herbert, “People who object to the harassment are often threatened with arrest for disorderly conduct.” Many people in the world go through discrimination in their lives and they might not realize it, it is all judgement.
It happens all around us, it is not kind and humane thing to do. This can take defensive behavior, but taking action for yourself is the best way to address the issues to make the attacker understand what it is you are trying to prove and defend yourself. They are not going to support your thoughts nor respect them but the least you can do is try to educate them on what you believe in. They will feel superior, even when they have no knowledge of their lives whatsoever.
In the article it also says, “The nonstop humiliation of young black and Hispanic New Yorkers, including children, by police officers who feel no obligation to treat them fairly or with any respect at all…” The mistreatment and disrespect is very shameful itself and so inhumane for someone to do. Everyone has the right to be treated the same and in a respectfully way, but when you discriminate, you choose to treat someone badly and make them feel insecure about themselves and it should not be that way, we all breathe the same air and no one should ever be superior to anyone.
