1) The management of this project must be unique because they aimed to open the store one week after the flood began. This project requires some skills like facilities, security, human resources, public relations, and financial, legal, insurance and support services. The recovery efforts based on following steps,
* Evacuation of water
* Lighting and elevator services
* Repairing the hole in tunnel
* Dissemble salvable machinery
* Manage restoration of the damaged areas
* Media and customers relationships.
Large scale disaster response and recovery efforts are containing the same characteristics.
2) The project reflects the cross-functional, goal-oriented, temporary nature of the project and single person (manager of maintenance) heads the project. Also this project has to be performed by different areas combination such as facilities, security, human resources, public relations, and financial, legal, insurance and support services. Moreover, not just their own employer and also their contacts like Chicago Fire and Water Department, parent company Dayton Hudson and public agencies. The project focuses particular time because of reopening after one week aim.
3) The project manager was the manager of maintenance. He could recover many of all electronic devices such as security, communication devices, computers, and also easily set up teams and combine people according to their responsibility. In other words he negotiates with fire and water departments, Dayton Hudson and public agencies.
The project team was included from facilities, security, human resources, public relations, and financial, legal, insurance and support services, Dayton Hudson's risk management group from Minneapolis electricians, engineers, and also a hired construction company. Most of them provided manpower for project and financial needs. Specifically electricians was necessary for electrical services like lighting and elevator services, engineers for repairing the hole in tunnel, and dissemble savable machinery, a hired construction company for manage restoration of damaged areas.
