Demonstrative Communication

Communication is the process of sending and receiving messages. According to Wikipedia.com, it is also the activity of sharing information through the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, visuals, signal, writing, or behavior. Communication is a worldwide tool to relate with other people and culture in many different ways and languages. Communication requires a sender, a message, and a receiver. The communication process is complete once the receiver has understood the message of the sender.

There are several ways to make sure that the receiver of the message has understood what the sender wants to deliver, and this is by the use of demonstrative communication which includes unwritten and nonverbal communication. People use demonstrative communication everyday and everytime. Effective communication is necessary for success in life relationships, work, and college. According to the "Basics of Communication," "Communication and relationships are an intertwined process" and that "communication creates a world of meaning." Because, verbal and nonverbal communications are so closely connected, they offer the basis for understanding the world around you and define your relationship with others. When you talk you are "not just speaking into the air but into the relationships defined by your culture."

Ineffective communication may be caused when the sender is using a language that the receiver does not understand. If communication is not effective it has the power to cause confusion, and mislead the receiver ending up in a misunderstanding. For example,
