When comparing the Populist movement with Jacksonian democracy, it is easy to see many similarities between the two, however there were a few differences to go along. In examining the reform that each proposed and fought for, it is obvious that one of the major focuses of each was to benefit the common man. As a man of humble background, Jackson fought for his people, especially pushing to benefit farmers. The populist supported the common man of their time, which was a factory worker.
