Leadership
Leadership influences others; it could be good or bad. The most effective leaders have the understanding that influencing others effectively is all about effectively managing oneself. In other words, how well I deal with myself has everything to do on how well I influence others. Also, how well I deal with myself has a lot to do with effective decision making. Effective leadership starts with Personal Congruence.
5 Great Leadership Attributes
A Great Leader…
- Has positive intent and impact and brings the best and out in others.
- People must have confidence that their opinions and thoughts will be heard and taken into consideration.
- Is Proactive verses Reactive
- A great leader is always thinking three steps ahead. They work hard to connect with their own environment and try to avoid problems before they arise.
- Respect Others
- Helps get along and get things done. By respecting others, leaders show that they understand that other people also have life goals and that they also endure struggles just as any other person. Respecting others also builds trust.
- Is Interested in Feedback
- How can you improve? Â Everyone has room for improvement. A great leader never thinks they know everything.
- Is A Good Communicator
- A good leader must listen whether they are for or against something. They must be willing to work to understand the needs and desires of others. A good leader asks many questions, considers all options, and leads in the right direction.
