D.B.Q Essay
In the time period of 600-1450 it was a time of trade. Trade is very important since it helps the economy prosper and also helps create a strong middle class. There were trade routes that people would follow so it could make it easier to get to their destinations. Another thing that's important about the trade routes is that the person who controls them is the person with the most power and it's a way for invaders to dominate an empire economically.
In the 7th-15th centuries trade increased rapidly. Trade helped other countries receive new material, religion, food, and technology to help the empire prosper. Even though trade leads to positive things, it could also lead to negative things such as the spread of foreign diseases such as the bubonic plague. The spread of the plague started in the 14th century and over 75 million people died from the deadly disease. Because of the bubonic plague trade was slow since people were afraid to receive the disease, and since trade was slow the economy dropped sort of like how today people stopped investing into the stock market since they are afraid that they would lose all of their money, that's why today America is in an economic crisis.
Some people travel not only to trade but to worship something that has something to do with their religion like Hsuan Tsnag, he came from china and he traveled all the way to India to worship the Bodhi tree which is significant to the religion known as Buddhism. The Bodhi tree is important because it's the same tree where Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism, achieved his enlightment. This can also be said about the people of today because some people do travel to worship something that is significant to their religion.
