Personally, I did a precursory reading of RA 10175 "An Act Defining Cybercrime, Providing for the Prevention, Investigation, Suppression and the Imposition of Penalties therefor and for Other Purposes". There's more things wrong with this law though. The world needs to know and I'm 100% Against on Cybercrime Law and I find this very crazy like others say that the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 "effectively ends the freedom of expression in the Philippines because through Internet or Cyberworld they can express and say what they feel and I find this "SOSYAL" version of martial law through internet does it tell me to remove all my accounts. I think there is no transparency in this new bill I think the government should focus on their work without entering the cyberworld. We should all promote net neutrality whether we are for it or against it! the NET was not invented or proposed to be manipulated by Government. It is for the use of the general masses.
For all the negative elements we are receiving we should accept it whether we like it or not because it only depends to the person how they will accept the criticism personally I also receive hate messages in FB, Twitter and Tumblr where I most active it says in the messages about my gender and who I am but for I take that as positive because they know my name not the real me in my point of view they government wants to stifle our freedom of expression and speech and Ideas.
How they are going to monitor this? How consistent? Millions of people are using internet. Hello! WAKE UP we are now in 21st century. Retweets, Facebook 'Likes' can also be libellous why the oppositions needs to approve this law, they have to undergo pre-test or have to think other people. Even the "Xerox Translator" because he was a victim of Cbyer Bullying.
I blame Tito Sotto for the last-minute insertion of the libel clause Worse thing is that there is a LIBEL clause under this new law. Libel. ON THE INTERNET. How. This represses the people's freedom of speech. I am personally victimized by the signing of this law into effect. It also stated in one article that Because of Sotto, libel is now a crime that's lumped together with cybersex, child porn and strangely enough, the electronic mailing of advertising spam. What makes the libel rider interesting is that it is SUCH a clumsy cut-and-paste job, without any attempt to take into account the nature of the Internet. This is the reality not the cybercrime this is really pathetic.
This our right we have to fight for it but now we haveto be careful in posting stuff in our accounts particularly in Facebook, Twitter or any social networks. We should also know our limitations. We have to think first Cybercrime Law applies to everyone that's why everyone's part of the system and I find it really BULLSHIT! WORLD PEACE! <3
