Cubing
Cubing is another technique that can help students thinks at different levels of the taxonomy. Cubing is a technique for considering a subject from different point of view. Also it works well when we are locked into a particular way of thinking". (Gregory, G. & Chapman, C. 2007 pg 124) "Such as describe it, compare it, associate it, analyze it, apply it, argue for or against it. It allows students to look at an issue or topic from a variety of angles and develop a multidimensional perspective rather than a single one using cubes offer a chance to differentiate learning by readiness familiarity with content or level of skill, student interest or learning. Cubing differentiate for learning is good for tactile/kinesthetic learners and it incorporates higher level thinking skills".(Gregory, G. & Chapman, C. 2007, pg 124) "A teacher can assess the readiness of her student are to leave one face on the cube or an opinion there is no right or wrong answer".(2 differentiate n.d) Second always have one easier question and one harder question on each cube, regardless of the level the cube is intended for. Finally cubes should cover the same types of question and skills at different levels. The reason why we chose cubes because you can use for all subjects they are use in independent study, team review or whole class prompts. "Cubes are in differentiation and the tasks depending on the abilities and interest of the small group. They add an element of novelty and fun to learning by providing uniqueness to the lesson"(Gregory, G. & Chapman, C. 2007, pg 124).Finally students according to their readiness with different colored cubes giving task or questions appropriate to their levels of understanding and ability in that particular topic or skill. Students assist one another in their learning. Writing this paper about cubing I have learned about that each student learns at their own level. When I become a teacher in the future I will use cubing technique because it helps students to think at a higher level. I know that I will have to adjust to the student readiness however that is what is being a teacher is all about. I have to find ways so the students can reach their goal and cubing will be one of them.
