There are many fun animations to watch in the world such as South Park, Walt Disney movie, Family guy, Simpsons, and etc. However all these series of animations contain controversial issues that we forget what is going on, just look for relaxing. In this paper I chose the famous cartoon South Park : Episode - Bloody Mary.
The episode is about Stan feels embarrassed when his father is arrested for drunk driving. Meanwhile, a statue of the Virgin Mary bleeds and people from all over embark on pilgrimages to see it, hoping to be healed by its power. Randy believes the bleeding statue can cure him of his alcoholism. Also in the episode, a statue of the Virgin Mary is believed to be bleeding from its rear end, inspiring faithful parishioners to flock from miles around to be healed by the miraculous blood. Eventually, Pope Benedict XVI is called in to investigate, whereupon he determines that the statue is actually menstruating and thus is nothing special. Also he says in the movie "A chick bleeding out her vagina is no miracle," the pope declares in the episode. "Chicks bleed out their vaginas all the time."
The Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights slammed the network for its irreverent portrayal of church icons and sought to block the episode from being rebroadcast. Also Somewhat predictably, the Catholic League was incensed by the satirical portrayal of the Virgin Mary and the pope and by the fact that the episode aired on the day before the Catholic Church celebrated its Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The conservative group demanded an apology from Viacom, Comedy Central's parent company, to Roman Catholics everywhere and "a pledge that this episode be permanently retired and not be made available on DVD." This episode tries or shows that Catholics even though it is a religion is too powerful in terms of intentional politics. I agree with this episode which makes fun of Catholics and criticize the connotation of the church in nowadays and past. First of all, looking at the Christian or Catholic people, they are unconditionally loved by the pope showing their faith and the pope is the absolutist. This can be seen in this episode where Stan's father got AA meeting and the leader of AA meeting orders the people in AA what he wants to do. One example can be alcoholism is an incurable illness which we could not cure by ourselves and people believe the leaders speech. Also nowadays church there are many things that counters its logic.
According to above news which many religious people saw especially Catholics and react what they have seen, Catholicism in my mind is as much of a joke as any other religion. No one protests when Christians try to spread their particular views and philosophy to all, but they get so worked up when someone promotes an anti-Christian point of view. People have the right to ridicule
