Corporate Sponsorships for Schools
Public schools often lack the necessary funding and support from outside sources. When a person's future and education is on the line, it is important to be funded by a successful institution and create correspondence with corporate sponsorships. Corporate sponsorships are a necessity for schools in order to provide the best educational opportunities for scholars.
In the classroom, supplies begin to run low and teachers, with relatively small salaries, have to take money from their own pockets to supply students with what they need. If the school had a corporate partnership, that business would be able to lend a hand to the school so that funds could be equally distributed to classrooms to supply learning tools. Some argue that children should be educated in a place with no corporate influence because the ads on school grounds “hinder open thought.” However, to ensure the greatest learning impact, schools need funds. In order for a child to develop open thought, they need the basis of education from teachers who are properly paid and respected, and in schools that provide the most aid to the students opportunities as possible. An ad on school property, from a corporation such as 24 hour fitness, is not going to sway anyone's view about important topics, but it may encourage kids to exercise, which is a beneficial impact.
Aside from educational purposes, corporate partnerships can benefit extracurricular activities such as sports. At San Clemente High School, along with other high schools, members of a sports teams are sent to recruit sponsorships from businesses around the community. These athletes are essentially being taught that they need to work hard in order to raise funds for their athletic purposes, because they will not be handed money in their lifetime without working. People may disagree with having corporations involved with sports as well. However, the advertisement of the corporate partnerships is mutual. Companies put their logos and ads on the backs of sports jerseys and the fences of sports fields, while school sports posters and schedules are posted on the windows of local shops, offices, or restaurants. Therefore, both the corporation and the school will benefit from the partnership because students are exposed to the business ads and will be more likely to invest in them, and the community will see the sports posters and spend money on going to games at the school, further providing schools with funds.
Overall, corporate sponsorships pose a positive influence on public schools. Partnerships with corporations are beneficial for both parties involved. In today's society, education is an emphasized importance and is highly serious in effect of a student's future. Corporate sponsorships with schools allow the school to provide and fund programs that ensure the highest potential of opportunity
