Computers have made life more complex and stressful
The invention of the computer is the greatest achievement during the 2oth century as it has replaced humans in almost every aspect of life - technical, social, intellectual, and even emotional. It is popularly believed that the computer has made our lives safer and easier, but what people do not realize is that by using a computer we have started to live in a more stressful and socially isolated world.
First of all, computers have turned into an integral part of verbal and non-verbal communication, so it is hard to imagine your everyday life without having one. You do your job and business on it, you do your homework and the shopping, you present projects, play games and even communicate with different people throughout the world. In addition, a lot of information can be stored in it, so it impossible to conduct medical, scientific and social research without the use of a computer. In the last twenty years there was a boom in the computer industry and telecommunications which are now converging as technology advances. We have started to explore not only our planet but the whole universe, using high-tech electronic equipment and labour-saving devices. A lot of laboratory research is done on computers and each country's banking system and industry depends on computers.
On the other hand, human relationships have become more complex because of the internet. Research has shown that people who have access to the global network have reduced the chances of making social and physical contact. Virtual reality has begun to replace verbal communication.
