What is communication?
- A two way (at least) process of interchanging information, thoughts, opinion, ideas...
- Unidirectional/bidirectional/multidirectional
- Verbal/Non-Verbal
- Medium: face-to-face, mediated

ACCORDING TO WHAT WE DISCUSSED IN CLASS WHAT CAN BE SAID ABOUT THE COMMUNICATION THAT GOES ON BETWEEN JILL AND JOHN?

B. IT IS TWO - WAY , INTERPERSONAL, FACE-TO-FACE

Answer: D. process between two parties back and forth. Mediated, they're texting.
How do we know communication?
Theories:
-Personal (native) theories
- Scholarly Theories (Scientific, imperial, testable, public theories)
Example: Nathan is going to visit his grandmother. He knows that when she sees him, she will hug him and give him a very wet kiss on his cheek, although she did not hug him nor did she give him a wet kiss the last three times they had not met. -INTRAPERSONAL- communication with one's self
-Interpersonal- With someone else one on one.
-Group- Communication among a few people (3-9) it can vary
-Public-
-Mass- Cannot interact with everyone. You see them but cant
* mediated*_ something that we used in order to communicate. Most of the time it is technological devices, cell phones, internet. Etc.
EXAMPLE: Jimmy gives a prsentation in front of 50 ppl. Hes done he needs to lead a discussion about what he was talking about. He tries to coordinate all 50 participants so that everyone who wants can contribute to the discussion, but he feels that neither he nor other ppl in the audience can give good useful feedback to one another. THIS IS PROBABLY DESCRIBED AS:
