Manga

Manga is another word for comic, in Japan. It is believed that manga dates back to the 12th century because there were scrolls that looked like manga today, just not as advanced. Reasons why we read manga from right to left today is because the scrolls were read right to left. Of course, there are always debates on the origins on where and when they came to be. Authors of these comics say that they had started in the late 19th century. Manga went from black and white to colored, from paper to television, it became a world-wide past-time.

Manga is a world-wide thing today. People of all ages love to read these comics. Manga has so many genres for you to choose from its hard not to pick one up and start reading. The genres that they have are Action, Adult, Adventure, Comedy, Doujinshi, Drama, Ecchi, Fantasy, Gender Bender, Harem, Historical, Horror, Josei, Martial Arts, Mature, Mecha, Mystery, One Shot, Psychological, Romance, School Life, Sci-fi, Seinen, Shoujo, Shoujo Ai, Shounen, Shounen Ai, Slice of Life, Sports, Supernatural, Tragedy, Yaoi, and Yuri. When picking a manga to read people usually go through the genres to narrow down their search to their perfect manga.

Action is one of many genres that people love to read. Some reasons are because of the races, fighting, spies, swords, and competition. Each one of these thing is what makes a manga entertaining for a person. Adventure is another genre, where the characters travel a lot to many different places and go to unseen worlds. It's a very magical thing and it makes u wish u were there the whole time. It makes you want to travel the world and see what 's out there for yourself.

Comedy is a good genre and even better when you're down. There is a lot of slipping and falling. Plenty of funny faces and people that tend to make many jokes. There are many more that you are bound to like and fall in love with. There are even manga that have more than one genre. They have manga that have up to seven genres in one. This is what makes the whole thing more exciting to people who do read these manga.

The first manga ever made was Tetsuwan Atomu, or as we know, Astro Boy, made by Osamu Tezuka. The Astro Boy Series was first published in 1952. The series came to be the most popular manga ever and Osamu Tuzuka was named the God of Manga by many who continued to read and came upon the manga. It was the best thing at the time, they had Frederik L. Schodt, one of many write the series in English so it would be brought over here. The manga was so popular it was made into a television series, an anime. This anime is still being watched today.
