Final Project-Part Two
The Message
- Description
- A proposal to fund the machine shop to help keep up with the high demand of value that will be picking up in the next few years. With the current machines, we have they are taken a beating over the last 10 years. We keep fixing them up which are getting costly.
- Results
- The result will be that the operators will have the state of the art machine to make parts to the best quality they can make. Also with the new machine, we will be able to get more done in one operation to get cost out of the part, fast delivery time to the customer and be able to have engineer team to go out and bid on a job that can make the company money. In addition, with the newly upgraded shop, we can have the reputation of being the go-to shop when a customer has a product that they want to be done quickly and that will lead to more growth in the future.
The Audience
- The intended audience is the senior management of the plant and Vice President of GE Aviation.
The Choice of Typography
- The typography for this proposal will be “Typographic specification—or type specs—is the craft of assembling the typographic details for a message for the maximum impact. In other words, we select and use type strategically in order to communicate a specific message using the selected medium so that it will be understood by its receiver in the sender's intended way”. (Ryan, W. 2012). I feel that this typography is a good fit for the message. In a business atmosphere, you have to be on the ball with no mistake when giving a proposal to gain trust and funds from higher executives. This typography requires the attention to detail to the message that will be shown or read.
Visuals to Support the Message
- I plan to use negative space that will help make the main point draw attention to the viewers. With a new machine and operator working on it, with a faded background of a plane flying in the sky.
- This will show that good machine help planes stay in the sky.
Platform/Medium to communicate the message
- A PowerPoint presentation of the proposal
- A brochure of the new machines
Reason for Selection of the Platform
- “PowerPoint allows you to use images, audio, and video to have a greater visual impact”. (bell, 2016). People follow images easier than someone talking. PowerPoint can be used in a number of different effective ways to communicate with your audience. Slides are completely customizable to fit your needs. (Bell,2016).
