1. Executive Summary
There are three shareholders involved in this company, Richard McVey, Marc Corrigan and Al Walsh. They have prepared a business plan below for the opening of a new live music venue on Camden Street in Dublin 2.
- Purpose of the plan
We have prepared a business plan for Ceol Bar as we believe it’s one of the most important factors when laying the foundations of a new business. It analyses every process involved in starting up a new company, sets the goals you aim to achieve and manages the overall direction in which you want the company to go.
- Product or service and its advantages
Ceol Bar is a contemporary music venue and gastro pub located on Camden Street, one of Dublin’s liveliest locations. It has three shareholders Richard McVey the General Manager, Marc Corrigan the Bar Manager and Al Walsh the Head Chef. Within Ceol Bar there will be many bars serving an extensive variety of alcohol including spirits, wines, domestic and imported beers and a large cocktail menu. A key feature of the venue will be the Irish bar complete with Irish brewed wheat beers, ales, stouts, and porters. On specific tables there will be pour your own pint taps to allow our customers experience it for themselves. As it’s a gastro pub there will be a wide variety of gourmet food available including gluten free options to satisfy everybody’s needs. Daily deals on food, drink and discounted cinema tickets with Omniplex are available when you dine in Ceol Bar.
- Market opportunity
When conducting research to find our target market, we split it up into three divisions, Geographic, Demographic and psychographic. Ceol Bar will try to encourage people from Donegal to Cork to play gigs in our venue and bring their friends and family along to enjoy the electrifying atmosphere we hope to bring to our venue. The main market we are targeting is the 18-35 year old age group as it is a live music bar and is aimed towards the younger audience. Taking into consideration the gastro side of the venue, we will also be targeting the over 35 age group as families, older couples and everybody living in the Camden street vicinity.
Richard McVey – General Manager
We will have Richard McVey as our General Manager, Richard is from Dublin and has 30 years’ experience in the bar business. He was general manager in Whelan’s for 10 years. He has also managed bars and clubs in Toronto, Washington and Belfast. He has a number of contacts in the Music Industry and plans to utilize these as well as his vast experience to our advantage. He will be overseeing day to day business as well as booking the acts to perform in the venue.
Marc Corrigan - Bar Manager
