Business Research - Cracker Barrel

Write a 300-word summary of the business research process by describing the business research process from your experience in the workplace or in an article you find through the University Library.

This paper will summarize the business research process by defining the business research process by my experience in the workplace. This is a summary of the business research process of my experience as a server at Cracker Barrel. The restaurant business is new to me; however it is a rewarding experience. I will at length summarize specific business research of Cracker Barrel and why they thrive on "pleasing people". Cracker Barrel's founder Dan Evins was the first to admit that the company exists to make a profit. Through business research and the the mission to please people, nearly four decades later Cracker Barrel is still thriving.

What is business research? Basically business research is the method a company makes to decide the most efficient, productive, and ethical way to make money and generate repeat customers. For example, starting any form of business has a need for research into the goal customer and the competition. Cracker Barrel created a vision to be the best restaurant in America. And since 1969, their mission has been pleasing people. Dan wanted to market gasoline to the traveling public. He wanted the store to offer a variety of things other than gasoline for weary travelers: a friendly home-away-from-home with an old country store and restaurant, a friendly place where people can relax, get a good meal and browse through unique, interesting, and authentic rural artifacts of a time pass by. Dan knew that by creating a safe haven and oasis on the highway he would create repeat, loyal customers.

Cracker Barrel's business research was clever and unique, target traveling people and make them feel at home. Create authentic country home cooking, and breakfast all day. Stay consistent by not franchising the business, stay corporate so the business stays the original family store from Lebanon, Tennessee.
