The type of culture that exists in OLC (Europe) Ltd is one of power culture and also a task culture in the organisation. Given below are the reasons for these cultures which exist in the college.
* Task culture- There are teams to complete certain jobs in the college, for example the tutors are given the task of helping other departments to complete tasks working together.
* The teams are given power to make some decisions on their own for example, when enrolling students, applications can be checked by the tutor and their team leader.
* Task culture- More transparency within the college as everyone is working close together, also employees can feel as they are appreciated by receiving promotions within the business.
* Power culture- There is some power culture in OLC Ltd. Although the Managing director will have the final decision to make, he will take feedback from the college staff and they will have some say in the decision.
* Power culture- Employees are clear about the task they need There is a strong relationship between the administration department and finance department in OLC (Europe) Ltd. As the administration department keeps records of staff times and expenses, these are given to the finance department for processing. Records of all student finance needs to be given and copies of receipts and invoices are all passed to the finance. The finance needs these documents and receipts to help calculate wages and pay right tax for the college and its employees. All information shared by these two departments must be accurate so the college can have a clear idea of its financial position.
