Throughout the years changes have been made to make sure organizations all over the world continue to be successful. In today's organizations managers have a big range of technology that makes it easier to implement the four functions of management. Understanding how exactly technology make is easier gives a big advantage to managers. Technology has made a major impact on how managers implement the four functions by via communication. Communication is a very big part of any organization from the moment the idea of a new organization is thought of to the growth of said organization. Without communication there would be no way to communicate the vision that the founder has to everyone that will have a part in making sure that vision is made true. Neither would it be possible for the correct way to implement planning, organizing, leading or controlling within the organization. With the technology that we have today, all this is possible. What more amazing is that we don't need to be physically face to face to make this possible; we could be half way around the world and still be in the same room as our associates. We can also share documents with a push of a button instead of waiting days for the documents to arrive via mail. A great example of this is using the internet to be able to donate items from across the world for those who are less fortunate. Organizing things are less stressful when items are catalogued with bar codes and entered into programs that can make it easier and faster to look for them. Instead of sending someone into the storage for hours just to look for certain file, files are organized in a program that will have the location where they are located. How the Salvation Army uses this would be to catalogue the items and prices into the system in case the price tag or code have gone missing they can easily be looked for in the system by just the description of the item. Leading and controlling has also been made easier by making it easier for employees to communicate with their employers. Messages that the employers have to share that are made to motivate or to be reminders are made easier via email. Controlling has always been a hard thing to do, one of the things that makes it so hard is that there are times when one can't get the absolute opinion from a person. This may be because they feel pressured to answer in a positive way so they may avoid any conflict for their opinions but it's been made easier by making surveys for both customers and employees private.
