Founded by Eugene Blaire in 1975, Blair Company Inc.’s mission is to ensure equipment above quality standards that will cater to the needs of its target market in the aspects of water filtration and purification that would result to a clean and safe – to – drink water. To continually operate, our goals are set and aimed to enter international market in order to be known in both local and international levels and make a mark in the global competition.

Blaire Company Inc. is also trying to produce creative products to meet future discoveries of need in terms of water filtration and purification as part of their company’s geographic expansion. One of the company’s international market liaisons, Mr. Rahul Chatterjee, made two trips in India and made a fruitful survey in the Indian market and its’ competition for water filtration and purification devices, and investment issues by foreign markets in India. The result of the two surveys provided Chatterjee to evaluate the possibility of launching the company’s own “Delight” home purifier in the indian market, and measure its’ feasibility. After doing multiple researches and analysis made on the data gathered, Chatterjee expressed his recommendations on the appropriate strategy in entering the Indian market.

    The problem appeared on the year 1997 after Chatterjee analyzed and studied the financial statement of the competitor in the year 1996.

Rahul Chatterjee, is the appointed representative that is sent by the company to concentrate on the Indian market, to collect and study the Indian market. Chatterjee found that market for home water filtration and purification may face several conflicts where the market seems clearly to be a mature one. There are four or five noted established Indian competitors fighting for the market share. On the other hand, another viewed captures the market as fragmented one with no large competitor having a national presence perhaps 100 small regional manufacturers, each competing in just one of two of India’s 25 states. Where, this occurrence reflected early growth stages of market that supports Blair Company Inc. to stimulate tremendous growth of market.
