Benefiting from a `Flat World`
In the past two and half decades, convergence of technology and events allowed India, China, and so many other countries to become part of the global supply chain for services and manufacturing, the phenomenon socially and economically termed as ``Outsourcing``. Outsourcing has created opportunities and wealth for the middle and educated classes of the world's two biggest nations followed by Brazil, South Africa, Turkey to smallest ones such as Mauritius, giving them a huge new stake in the success of globalization and help `emerge` from otherwise disconnected narrative of isolated histories. The growth of these emerging markets has been truly transformational in these societies. My own adult life and career has been positively shaped by this revolutionary economic paradigm giving me access to people, places, experiences to this bring me to the point of begin my global EMBA from an elite Management School. The opportunities I have were never possible to my parents’ generation.
I started my career in India as the fledging Business Process Outsourcing ( BPO) Industry took flight in India with XXX which was one of India´s biggest BPO service provider. My learning curve has been phenomenal as my early years in Corporate Communications gave me a ring side view of the industry by contributing towards shaping and communicating the narrative of the BPO industry in India. The key responsibility was to produce content, whether for customers for my organization or towards educating and attracting talent- to the BPO industry through all communications channels from print to digital/ web to events. I moved up the organisation and appointment as the corporate communications manager responsible for North India where the company opened an office there and served as liaison for my organisation in the national media.
I have since devoted 12 years in the industry, of which 8 years with ABC , spanning a large variety of domains from Operations, Knowledge Management and Business Development. As an Operations manager I build a team to serve ABC in communication design offshoring, first of its kind. During my years there, my team and I packaged the ABC Annual and Quarterly reports that were circulated to media and investors across the globe.
In 2016, I was leading the business development function for 1200+FTE Insurance Operations. That year we achieved 200 + FTE growth in Insurance Operations especially identify and delivering BPO services to new markets such as Allianz Australia.
