Auditory PMR
When you're ready make yourself comfortable, take a deep breath and close your eyes. All you can hear is the sound of my voice, any other sounds you hear will start to fade as you listen to the sound of my voice. You will start to become relaxed. More relaxed than you have been before. This is just for you, there is no one who needs anything from you and you can start to feel at ease with yourself.
I want you to try and tune into your body to start to relax. Listen to each part of this PMR and notice how your body will slowly become more and more relaxed. When you hear me mention the different parts of the body I want you to notice any tension in that area disappear.
Let's start with your head, notice how that tension around your forehead.........eyebrows...... eyes....... Checks...... lips...... and chin... disappears as you start to become more relaxed and comfortable. If you feel your eyelids twitching, don't worry try and let them relax as much as you can. A place where you feel free as a bird to do what makes you happy. Try hearing the sounds of the birds singing or the sounds of the deep see slowly reaching the shore, all you can hear is the sound of the sea and the singing birds above you. Listen to the sounds of the soft sand tricking thro your fingers and toes. Whilst you are concentrating on the sounds you can hear focus on the warm sea breeze working its way around your body, making you feel comfort, warmth, and harmonious. While you listen to the sounds of the sea and feel the sand between your fingers and toes, you hear a beautiful bird singing and you feel a connection with this bird. You hear this bird from a distance and then the noise gets closer and closer and before you know it the bird is by your side. You are happy and content to be near it. You hear this bird's lovely song for a while and notice how comforting it is to be so close. Then this wonderful
